May 31, 2010 - Call for
Nominations
Nitrex Metal is currently seeking nominations for the Hephaestus Award to be
presented during Nitriding Symposium 2.
The Hephaestus award recognizes scientific contributions made by either academic
or industrial researchers to the field of heat treating that have had an impact
on surface engineering, materials science, and industrial processes or
production techniques.
The winner will be flown to Las Vegas for the award ceremony. Nitrex
Metal will cover all travel and subsistence expenses.
This is the second time the award will be presented. In 2005, Professor Jan
Tacikowski of the Institute of Precision Mechanics, Poland was honored for his
groundbreaking work in controlled nitriding.
Nomination entries must be received no later than September 16, 2010. Nominations
can be submitted by completing the nomination form online at
www.nitriding.info/Hephaestus.asp or by downloading the
