Nitrex Metal is currently seeking
nominations for the Hephaestus award to be presented during
Nitriding Symposium 2 in May 2008.
The Hephaestus award recognizes scientific contributions made by
either academic or industrial researchers to the field of heat
treating that have had an impact on surface engineering, materials
science, and industrial processes or production techniques.
The winner will be flown to Montreal, Canada in May 2008 for the
award ceremony. Nitrex Metal will cover all travel and subsistence
expenses.
This is the second time the award will be presented. In 2005,
Professor Jan Tacikowski of the Institute of Precision Mechanics,
Poland was honored for his groundbreaking work in controlled
nitriding.
Nomination entries must be received no later than January 28, 2008.
Nominations can be submitted by completing the nomination form
online or by downloading the Word file and returning it by email to
info@nitriding.info.
